Seeds
We started as a small home-housed Montessori school in 1989 called The Playschool. We loved and nurtured the tiny people who came in with tears in their eyes, and we made sure that they left with smiles. We soon had over a hundred students. At which point we felt confident about widening our little world beyond the Montessori stage. Our decision to grow the school has been validated by the success of the Indus Academy.
Sprouts
We founded The Indus Academy in 1997 as a nursery and primary school. In 2004, we achieved British Council accreditation to offer O’Levels according to the British National Curriculum. Our students have made us proud by moving on to the best schools and colleges in the country and abroad after graduating from The Indus Academy.
Vision
Our foundational principle is trust. We trusted in our ability to steer the Montessori school into a place of excellence for higher learning. We impart the value of trust to our students; to trust the learning environment as a giver of knowledge; to trust in themselves as learners and to think critically about what they are learning. Self-empowerment, we believe, is true empowerment at any age.
